Robert Kennedy and Dr. King’s Predictions

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:11 pm by Summer

This is an amazing week in our country!  There is a sort of aura going on this week that is hard not to notice.  I’ve heard many people say things like I finally know what being patriotic feels like, now I see a real change coming, and hope is alive.  While I’ve been pretty patriotic since the attacks on the World Trade Centers, its a great feeling to finally SEE people being patriotic across our nation and it is amazing.  I’m elated that many African-Americans know that anything is possible now.  I’ve always felt that they were endless possibilities for any race but now its prevalent.

I did not grow up when there was inequality in our nation.  I was born in the late 70′s, really grew up in the 80′s and 90′s, and in the schools and in society I saw many different races holding higher paid jobs.  I never really thought that only white people could be president to tell you the truth!  I knew a day would come when we would have a different nationality in the white house.

And so I leave today with this clip!  I hold high respect for Dr. Martin Luther King.  He was a very intellectual man.  If you ever have time read his letter he wrote while he was in jail in Birmingham it is worth reading.  It is long, but it is so well thought out and very well written.
